Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the security department, ensuring safe and cost-effective handling of flights and security services.
- Develop and implement aviation security strategies, policies, and procedures that comply with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Cascade security strategies to all employees across the business to ensure organizational alignment.
- Lead and manage security personnel, offering guidance, training, and supervision for effective operations.
- Supervise the scheduling, training, and performance evaluation of security staff.
- Implement ongoing training programs to enhance threat recognition, crisis management, and customer service capabilities of the security team.
- Oversee security measures such as access control, screening procedures, and security patrols to safeguard aviation facilities, personnel, and assets.
- Ensure compliance with aviation security regulations and directives from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and national aviation authorities.
- Prepare and present security reports and recommendations to senior management and regulatory bodies.
- Provide strong leadership and hands-on execution to maintain a high level of security within the organization.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Graduate level education or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
- Ability to work independently as a front-line supervisor with strong leadership qualities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, pleasant personality, and good health.
- Completion of relevant and recognized professional security courses.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fluency in Swahili.
- Legal right to live and work in Zanzibar.
