Overview:
The WWF/GEF Tanzania Food Systems Land Use and Restoration Project is a 5-year initiative addressing the degradation of Tanzania's forests and wetlands while promoting sustainable rice production. The MELKM Program Officer will be responsible for tracking project progress, collecting and analyzing data, and ensuring the project stays on course to achieve its outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design data collection methods in collaboration with technical teams.
- Manage project data to ensure accuracy and consistency over time.
- Track project progress and report quarterly, semiannually, and annually.
- Coordinate with field teams to ensure effective monitoring systems.
- Contribute to project evaluations and adapt strategies based on emerging data.
- Lead knowledge management, including the development of lessons learned.
- Engage with the global FOLUR Integrated Program through events, networks, and training.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, program evaluation, or related field.
- At least 4 years of relevant work experience, with 2 years in M&E roles.
- Expertise in data collection and analysis for development or conservation projects.
- Proficiency in database software (Excel, Smartsheet).
- Strong writing and analytical skills.
- Fluency in English required; knowledge of Swahili is preferred.
- International experience is a plus.
