Job Summary:
Drive NBC’s access to Debt Capital Markets, ESG/Sustainable Finance, and Bilateral Term Funding.
Key Responsibilities:
Debt Capital Markets (40%):
- Originate and manage capital market issuances.
- Lead proposals, transaction advisor engagements, and ensure successful issuances.
- Collaborate with ALM, Capital, Liquidity Management, and Coverage Teams.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and continuous listing obligations.
- Research market activities and innovate to broaden Tanzania’s capital markets.
ESG/Sustainable Finance (40%):
- Identify ESG finance opportunities and lead engagements.
- Collaborate with in-country and group stakeholders to develop ESG frameworks and policies.
- Monitor ESG projects, compliance, and issuance of ESG bonds.
- Develop bank-wide ESG understanding, compliance, and stakeholder mapping.
Long-Term Finance (5%):
- Monitor and develop the bank’s long-term funding plans in collaboration with ALM, Liquidity, and Capital Management.
- Mobilize local and foreign finance from lenders, ensuring competitive terms.
- Manage lender relationships and ensure compliance with KYC and documentation requirements.

Other Responsibilities:
- Support ALM, Liquidity, and Capital Management functions.
- Flexibly take on additional treasury and funding responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
- Preferred Certifications:
- CISI Certification by CMSA
- ESG-related Certification
- Other Capital Markets or Investment Certifications
- Experience:
- Minimum 5 years in Debt Capital Markets or related fields, with some Treasury exposure.
- Strong understanding of global financial markets, ESG trends, and corporate debt instruments.
- Preferred experience in transaction advisory, bond issuance, and ESG finance.
Key Competencies:
- Knowledge of ESG, sustainable finance, and Tanzania’s regulatory framework.
- Strong project management, analytical, and communication skills.
- Results-oriented with a positive and energetic attitude.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives and work as part of a team.
