Institution: The Catholic University of Health and Allied Sciences (CUHAS), owned by the Tanzania Episcopal Conference (TEC), offers a range of training programs for over 3,500 students, including PhD, Master's, Bachelor's, and Diploma levels across various health-related disciplines.
CUHAS is seeking highly qualified and motivated individuals to fill the following full-time positions:
1. The Weill Bugando School of Medicine
1.1 Lecturer Positions:
- General Surgery: 2 Posts
- Orthopaedics and Trauma: 3 Posts
- Paediatrics and Child Health: 2 Posts
- Internal Medicine (Sengerema): 1 Post
- Radiology: 1 Post
Qualifications:
- Master of Medicine (MMed) or equivalent with a GPA of 4.0 and above or B+ grade from a recognized institution, plus a GPA of 3.5 and above from undergraduate studies.
- Must be registered by respective Councils/Boards.
- 2 years of teaching experience is an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct lectures, seminars, tutorials, and bedside teaching.
- Prepare and administer exams and assess students' work.
- Conduct and publish research.
- Provide clinical services and supervise students in medical settings.
1.2 Tutorial Assistant (Department of Anatomy and Histology) – 1 Post
Qualifications:
- MD or equivalent degree with a GPA of at least 3.5.
- Must be registered by respective Councils/Boards.
Duties:
- Conduct tutorials, supervise seminars, and assist in practical sessions.
1.3 Laboratory Technologist (Department of Biochemistry/Physiology) – 1 Post
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences (DMLS) or equivalent.
- Must be registered by respective Councils/Boards.
Duties:
- Assist in laboratory research, student projects, and practical sessions.
2. The School of Public Health
2.1 Assistant Lecturer (Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics) – 1 Post
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Biostatistics/Applied Statistics/Medical Statistics with a GPA of 4.0 and above and 3.5 in undergraduate studies.
- Must be registered by respective Councils/Boards.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct lectures, seminars, and practical sessions for undergraduate students.
- Supervise research projects and collaborate on research activities.
2.2 Lecturer (Department of Environmental and Occupational Health) – 1 Post
Qualifications:
- PhD and Master’s Degree in Environmental & Occupational Health, GPA of 4.0 and above, and GPA of 3.5 for a Bachelor’s degree.
- 2 years of teaching experience is an added advantage.
3. The School of Pharmacy
3.1 Tutorial Assistant (Pharmaceutics) – 1 Post
3.2 Tutorial Assistant (Pharmacognosy) – 1 Post
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) with a GPA of 3.5 or above.
- Must be registered by respective Councils/Boards.
4. Institute of Allied Health Sciences
4.1 Tutor Positions:
- School of Medical Laboratory Sciences: 1 Post
- School of Diagnostic Radiography: 3 Posts
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences/Medical Imaging with a GPA of 3.5 or above.
- Must be registered by respective Councils/Boards.
4.2 Laboratory Attendant III – 1 Post
Qualifications:
- National Form IV/VI Certificate with passes in English and Kiswahili.
4.3 Senior Administrative Assistant – 2 Posts
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Public Administration, Human Resources, or related fields from a recognized institution.
